Master Shoemaker
Jadd Friedman
"Designing and making shoes to the highest standard possible in British shoemaking is my passion."
Jadd is the master shoemaker behind the original 'Suffolk Shoes' workshop in England, a business founded by his father, Raymond Arthur Friedman(1947-2021) in 1998, following years in shoe retail and repairs of Northampton Goodyear welted shoes. Specialising in stitchdown construction footwear using original British machinery, Jadd managed the workshop producing footwear for brands including Clarks International and Solovair, as well as several independent retailers in Japan who loved the authenticity of our British made Desert boots.
Alongside the wholesale production, Jadd also crafted his own range - made to the highest standard possible in the stitchdown style, or as he would say, "making the shoes I want to make". The decision to use his name as the brand emerged from a familiar phrase often heard during workshop quality control, "Is it Jadd standard?". With that benchmark set, Jadd Shoes began.
