Desert shoes, lightweight and cool, perfect for summer.
More work goes into our unlined Desert shoes than a fully lined pair. There's a lot more than just removing the lining in order to create a good shoe.
The profiled back-seam cups your heel for a secure fit, and suede counter lining adds an extra level of heel grip. The toplines are beaded and a cord reinforcement enclosed within to limit stretch so the shoe doesn't gape. On the inside of the shoe, the topline and eyelet facings are reinforced with an extra layer of calf leather, which completes the finished look of the shoes.
Our design also features asymmetric quarters, where the inside quarter sits higher than the outside, offering better support with plenty of clearance for ankle bones. These are structured shoes with all the benefits of an unlined construction.
Stitchdown construction onto natural crepe soles available with your choice of opaque edge stain in black (pictured) or brown, or choose one of our Vibram cleated soles in Natural or Black.
2mm calf leather with a kid suede counter lining, buffed 3mm leather insoles, and padded leather heel sock
EVA mid-sole for shock absorption, and Beechwood shank for arch support.

Please use the table below as a guide. To measure foot length, you need a flat surface adjacent to a vertical plane such as a wall or cupboard. Place a ruler on the ground and butt it up against the wall, then stand next to it with your heel pushed against the same wall and take the measurement to the tip of your toe. You are looking for the longest measurement, so this might not always be at your big toe.
Alternatively, place a sheet of paper on the ground and butted up to the wall as above, stand on it with your heel against the same wall, and mark with a pencil around your longest toe. Hold the pencil at a slight angle to get the nib closer in to your toe to take account for the thickness of the pencil. Take care not to draw your line underneath your toe, giving a false measurement. Next, measure the length from the heel end of your paper to the pencil line.
Our lasts run true to size according to Standard Last Length measurements. If you are unsure which size to choose after taking your measurement, contact us and we will compare you measurement to our lasts for the most suitable size.
Looking at the table below, we give the shoe inside length by size. You want your foot length to be between 10-15mm under this measurement. If you prefer a little extra width for your little toe, choose a size closest to your foot length + 15mm.
